Come support OPA at the SVUSD Board meeting this Thursday November 10 at 6:15 PM at the Saddleback Valley Unifed School District office board room located at 25631 Peter A. Hartman Way in Mission Viejo.A public hearing is the single opportunity a charter group has to present a strong show of public support for the petition to the Board of Education. The petition document itself was turned in, and District staff has been evaluating the program. Because a school will affect and, we believe, benefit so many people, it is vital that the Board see a large and strong show of public support for the public hearing.
As for the format, all public hearings follow the standard District format: three minute time limits. However, anyone may speak. The District will not be rendering a vote at this meeting. That will happen at a future meeting when OPA is an Action Item on the Board's agenda. This public hearing is part of the petition process within the time lines as mandated by charter law.
